Hunter's Video (first edit)

Meeting Hunter Rose

This little angel is my Neice. She is two days old.
She is perfect, beautiful, sweet, cuddly and a very good learner!

Mommy is teaching her all sorts of things, but most important is how to breastfeed. Though we have some breathtaking photos of her skills, I won't be sharing them with the internet world. What I can say is that her mother, my amazing sister Brandi, is such a calm, loving teacher and Hunter Rose is learning quickly and enjoying her proud parents' love!

Those of us who could be there (though many others wanted to) waited anxiously for Hunter's arrival.
It felt like FOREVER before we heard the great news:

We waited with video and still cameras ready

The proud grandmother's enjoying the birthing photos from Bryan

Nana and Pop-pop have their first GRANDDAUGHTER!

I am in love!

19 Weeks

This is what I look like this week.

This is what the baby looks like this week.
Baby's now the size of a Mango!
Baby has become amazingly mobile (compared to me, at least), yawning, hiccupping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking, and swallowing. And baby is finally big enough that Eric and I have be able to feel some of the movements!

Our last ultrasound confirmed that we are having a second BOY. What was also clear is that our little guy is long and lean, healthy and stubborn. He had his arm across his face and was face down in the placenta, so we didn't get great photos even with a lot of twisting and poking to make him move. It was wonderful to see him though!

Noah's Happy

Last Friday we decided, last minute, to go for a walk down town and have dinner.
Noah looks extra happy, wouldn't you say?

What could possible make him soooo happy?

1. Daddy was with us
2. We brought the car
3. We forgot a stroller
4. Daddy runs FAST!

Sometimes, too fast for mommy's comfort

Sisters

What a blessing it is to have a sister. In my case, I actually now have two! What's even better is that my big sis and I are pregnant together. She is exactly 20 weeks ahead of me. I hope we can get another good shot of our baby belly's before little Hunter comes next Wednesday. I am 17.5 weeks here and she is 37.5 weeks along.

Maybe one day we will have a photo of all three sisters with baby bellies. Wouldn't that make for some proud grandparents and a great photo!

17 Weeks

Today I am 17 weeks along in pregnancy #2

I had a check up this morning. Baby's heart rate was a loud and beautiful 150. I have been feeling some movement for about two weeks now but it doesn't quite make me smile when I feel him move. Hopefully soon these strange, tickling feelings will turn into more fluid movements that I can enjoy and smile at. I have gained 8 lbs and am barely fitting into my largest pair of jeans. I am sure at this point I could wear maternity jeans, but they just aren't the same. Plus, they seem shorter and wider then when I wore them with Noah. =(

So maybe a shopping trip is in my near future?

In two weeks we have a BIG ultrasound. We will have some pictures and video too!

At this point, I look like this:

Baby #2 looks like this

McCoy Baby #2: Week 17

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints. My how our baby has grown! He's about the size of your fist, weighs about five or so ounces, and is developing some body fat (join the club, baby!). His heart is now regulated by his brain (no more random beats) to beat 140 to 150 times per minute — about twice as fast as mine! He’s practicing the survival skills he’ll need at birth — like sucking and swallowing.

Wedding Getaway

Brandi and Bryan

These two are so happy and very much in love. Brandi is due to have her baby (boy or girl???) in just a couple weeks. Not only can she rock her bridesmaid dress, flaunt here super cute baby belly (all belly), and dance all night (literally) on the dance floor...but she also stole kisses from Hubby all night long.

It was very sweet.

Date nights are always fun, but a whole night away is the BEST! Congratulations Summer and Danny, your wedding was amazing and we had a blast!

Sunday morning we had breakfast at the 101 Coffee House and sat across for Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel. That made for an fun end to our Hollywood escapades.

And in case you were wondering...these are the only two pictures I took (or had taken of us). I was just too busy having fun. But I kinda wish I had a photo of the bride and groom!

Being a KID

I see grown-ups every day
Who've forgotten how to play
Dried up and lied up
They really should be tied up
For spreading doom and gloom that way
If they ever knew how to have fun
They're not going to tell anyone
I don't want to be like them
So this is what I've done
This is my song about being a kid
So I can remember the things that I did
When I'm old and respectable
And uncorrectable
I'll remember being a kid
I need to play, every day
Or the kid within me withers away
I need to run, have some fun
Before my serious mysterious days are done

So, this is my song about being a child
When the going gets heavy
Or the world gets too wild
When you're getting crazy
I'm fresh as a daisy
'Cause I'll remember being a kid
Yes, I'll remember being a kid!

Park Play

Our son LOVES the park, any park. As long as he gets to run and explore.
And, as long as you don't make him sit in a swing.

Noah isn't much of a climber. It is actually something that I have been thinking about a lot lately. Many of his little buddies climb like monkeys. They can get up and over anything (most the time without help). Noah though, he takes his time, just going up the stairs takes him a while.  I can see how he has more trouble with his little legs than other kids. It seems like they get stuck under him more often and Noah knows this. He won't do certain things because he gets stuck or trips easily. I wonder if that is because he was a "late" walker (15 months). Or if it is because he has had loose joints (which caused him to walk later). Maybe because of these things his legs are still gaining strength. He definitely steers clear of all the ladders, which makes my time at the park much easier!

Well, no matter the reason, it is fun to watch him push himself. To see him learning and growing. He makes it anywhere he wants to go.

Noah has a girlfriend.
Actually, he has a few...
But don't tell them!

I think SOFIA is his favorite

She loves to
HUG
KISS
HELP
TACKLE
&
Hold HANDS!
Noah isn't so sure about all that

This sand ended up in the rolled cuffs of his pants. Then in his crib after nap time.
LESSON LEARNED: wear pants that fit at the park

Easter 2010

This is the first Easter since Noah started walking so we decided to meet some friends at Central Park for the Easter Egg hunt. Really, they just pick up pieces of candy and none of the kids seamed to miss the plastic eggs. Noah found a spot free of crowds, picked up all the candy around his feet and then stood there wondering what was next. I guess it didn't keep him entertained for too long. But is was cute to see all the little kids running around...none of them quite sure what they were doing or why they were doing it.

In Daddy's arms is where Noah is most comfortable

You know the Fire Dept would be in our Easter! The guys brought an Engine and an Ambulance out to the park for all the kids to enjoy. They even  had Mr. Incredible, a duck, and Sparky the Dalmatian to entertain.

Pop-pop and Noah after the Hunt...noticing the Ducks in the pond

Awww....

Where did those Ducks go?
I ask Noah, "how does a duck go?"
Noah answers, "duck, duck!"

Trying to get Noah to leave the dock was hard. Ducks are a very BIG deal you know.
We made it through our first EASTER EGG HUNT!

After Central Park, we went to Eric's parent's house for an Easter Brunch. It was so yummy it was lunch and dinner too! Almost all the family was there and Noah is starting to enjoy his cousins, Nick and Zach more and more.

Some gifts from the Easter Bunny and family

The final hunt of the day was with REAL eggs. Noah really enjoyed this hunt. We kept re-hiding the eggs and he didn't seem to notice and kept running all over the place.

I'd say he did pretty well!

Next year we will begin making Easter about what it REALLY is about. The fact that our Savior is risen. It is going to be a challenge to make the Easter story fun and relevant for a child, but that is what our job as parents is all about. We have to raise him to love the Lord and teach him about Jesus. So I am off tomorrow to buy some Easter Sale items. I can't wait to see Noah get more and more involved in these special holidays!

Bonus: Cool Kid
Like father, Like Son
