Fire Department Awards Ceremony

Not the best quality photo...but a QUALITY NIGHT!

The Fire Department held an awards ceremony to recognize all the Firemen who have gone above and beyond at work and outside of work. Being family friendly, I came with kids in tow to proudly cheer on my HOT hubby as he was presented two awards: the Unit Commendation Award and the Meritorious Service Award

The highlights of the night came straight out of our two year old's mouth:

  • Entering the ceremony hall Noah spotted the "Fire Truck" podium and began making loud siren sounds. Of course this was after everyone was seated and quiet.
  • The chaplin comes on stage, we bow our heads and begin prayer, 5 seconds in Noah screams, "Aaaaaaamen!"
  • Daddy gets called to the stage and our sweet boy wants to go with him, loudly telling the entire auditorium he wants to go too.
  • BOTH times Daddy was on stage Noah loudly states "I want my daddy!" and "GO daddy GO!"
After many other sweet interruptions I realize it was time to head home. Thank the Lord Noah was cute and happy, not screaming, fighting or complaining. Even Chief McIntosh stood at the podium and told the entire auditorium that loud children are happy and healthy and he was happy to have them there. I just hope the rest of the audience felt the same way. I mean, family friendly with a starting time of 6pm is a little challenging!

Ending the night with a glass of wine, Chronic Taco, and my hubby cozy on the couch made it a perfect ending!!!

  1. Way to go Eric! And way to go rock-star mom of the year for taking those babies to the ceremony. They deserve to see the good deeds of their daddy be rewarded. Miss you friend!
